Mediation Options
A full-day mediation is probably necessary for tough cases, those with multiple plaintiffs, and class/PAGA actions. Michael's fee is $8,000 for single-plaintiff cases and $10,000 for all others. ARC adds a small administrative charge for each party.
In many cases, a half-day mediation is sufficient. Michael urges the parties to consider his four- (or five-) step program to increase the chances of settlement. The cost is $5,500, but ARC charges an additional administrative fee per party.
Michael mediates cases ordered to mediation by United States District Court for the Central District of California (ADR Procedure No. 2). The first three hours of mediation time are free. Excess time is billed at $800 per hour.
